Looking Back – Jefferson Center — (History)

Looking back at Roanoke History

Jefferson Center has earned its spot in Roanoke history. First as a high school, now as a cultural hot spot. World renowned performers take to the Shaftman Performance Hall stage to wow Roanokers. This 30 minute show is part of a series for Cox Communications. It chronicles the journey the old Jefferson high school took, from an empty high school saved from demolition, to a world class entertainment center and home for non-profits. The Jefferson Center is still a home for learning though, it houses the Music Lab, a place where young people discover themselves through music while learning how to perform, write, engineer and market their creations.
